About the Journal
Depik is a peer-reviewed open-access journal published by Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesia. The journal is accredited by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia (SINTA 2).
Depik publishes original research articles in the fields of aquatic and fisheries sciences, including fisheries (aquaculture, capture fisheries, and fish processing), aquatic ecology (freshwater, marine, and brackish water), aquatic biology, and oceanography.
The journal is jointly published by the Faculty of Marine and Fisheries, Universitas Syiah Kuala, in collaboration with the Indonesian Association of Oceanologists (Aceh Chapter), Graduate School of Universitas Syiah Kuala, and the Center for Marine and Fisheries Studies of Universitas Syiah Kuala.
Depik is published three issues per year (2012 to 2024), four issues per year (2025), six issues per year (Starting on 2026), and applies a rigorous peer-review process to ensure the quality and originality of published manuscripts.

Depik Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Perairan, Pesisir dan Perikanan is accredited by Direktorat Jenderal Penguatan Riset dan Pengembangan Kemenristekdikti Republic of Indonesia starting from Volume 7 Number 3, 2018 based on the decree letter (SK) No. 30 / E / KPT / 2019, November 11, 2019 (Sinta 2 Grade) and starting from Volume 12 Number 1, 2023 based on the decree letter (SK) No. 72 / E / KPT / 2024, April 1, 2024 (Sinta 2 Grade).
DEPIK Jurnal Ilmu-Ilmu Perairan, Pesisir dan Perikanan is a peer review international journal. This is a joint publication between Faculty of Marine and Fisheries Universitas Syiah Kuala, Indonesian Association of Oceanologists (Aceh Chapter), Graduate School of Universitas Syiah Kuala and Center for Marine and Fishery Studies of Universitas Syiah Kuala. Depik publishes one volume and three issues a year in April, August, and December (2012 to 2024), four issues a year in March, June, September, and December (2025), and six issues per year (Starting on 2026). The paper will be published online as soon as the revision is approved by the editor in chief and therefore, no time constraint, but the paper will be printed at the end of the respective issue. The first issue has published on February 6, 2012. The editorial boards are come from several reputable universities in Indonesia and worldwide. The journal is focusing on but not limited to:
- Fisheries (Aquaculture, Capture Fisheries, Fish Processing)
- Aquatic Ecology (Freshwater, Marine, and Brackish water)
- Aquatic Biology (Fish, Mollusk, Crustacean, Plankton, Coral reefs)
- Oceanography
The authors are suggested to read and follow the Guideline for Author strictly, otherwise, the paper will be rejected without review. Paper submission should be performed through online submission. The registered author can be Login at, https://publications.usk.ac.id/depik/login, and the new author should register prior to submitting the paper at, https://publications.usk.ac.id/depik/user/register.

Starting from Volume 6 Issue 1 (2017) onward the Submission and Peer Review processes are fully online, and therefore the journal is no longer received submission by email. Depik is publishing a new PDF performance and layout starting on Volume 6.
